Keyword tool will now be called Keyword Planner

Google to ban Keyword tool for non-Adwords account users

Google is planning to only make it’s handy Keyword tool available to those who own an Adwords account.

Business2community.com reports that the switch will take place ‘in the very near future’.

Once the change happens, Google will make some adjustments to the tool, which will be called the Keyword Planner instead. It will have three distinct parts offering options to search for keyword and ad group ideas, enter or upload keywords to see how they perform, and multiply keyword lists.

However, the new version will not have all the features that can be found on the current keyword tool. You won’t be able to get statistics for search or ad share anymore.

We predict that there will be quite a few Adwords accounts being created ‘in the very near future’.
