Hot Watch turns your hand into a phone

A new type of smart watch that aims to turn a user’s "hand into a phone" is entering production after smashing its funding target.

Hot Watch was seeking $150,000 on Kickstarter but has already amassed more than $370,000 with around a month to go.

The Bluetooth device lets callers send and receive messages and make private calls without touching their phone. Users simply place the watch close to their ear to make and receive calls, but it must be within 20 to 30 feet of their phone to work.

Hot Watch features private calls, contact downloads, texts, emails, Facebook, Twitter, apps including weather, stocks and calendar, as well as a pedometer, calculator, alarm, timer and more.

There are four models in development – Edge, Classic, Basic and the premium Curve version.

The watch also boasts an M3 processor, Sharp 1.26-inch E-paper display, Bluetooth 4.0, a 6-Axis Accelerometer and Gyroscope, bright flash light, vibration motor and an SDK for third-party custom apps. It is also water resistant.

"This elegant, bio-mechanical solution empowers private calls like never before, imparting a similar experience to placing a phone to your ear," read a statement. "The beauty and potential of this patent pending idea, evolving how humans communicate, inspired us to make this watch a reality."
