Images have appeared on @evleaks that allegedly show Nokia’s next flagship smartphone, which is likely to be called either the Lumia 1020 or Lumia 909.
The handset it thought to feature a massive 41MP ‘PureView’ camera, and the images seem to confirm that, showing the back of the smartphone with a big camera section.
The smartphone is thought to come with Nokia Pro Cam software, which can offer 11x digital zoom.
Other rumoured specs include a 4.5-inch AMOLED display, 4G LTE support, a metal chassis and 32GB of internal storage.
There was talk of Nokia’s next smartphone being a US-only exclusive, however a telecoms industry insider has told CNET that the Lumia 1020/909 will also come to the UK.
It was heavily rumoured that Nokia’s latest smartphone, the Lumia 925, would be the device that came with a 41MP camera, but in reality the smartphone’s rear camera offered the same 8.7MPs as the Lumia 920. It did, however, come with a six-element lens designed to correct image distortion.
The new Lumia 1020 (or Lumia 909) is expected to launch on July 11th in New York.
