Paul Deneve returns to Apple after working for the firm in the 90s

Apple hires former Yves Saint Laurent CEO for ‘special projects’

Paul Deneve has been hired by Apple to work on special projects for Tim Cook.

The former CEO of Yves Saint Laurent is returning to Apple after working for the firm during the 1990s.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Paul Deneve to Apple,” said the company in a statement. “He’ll be working on special projects as a vice president reporting directly to Tim Cook.”

The hiring appears to be unrelated to Apple’s most prominent vacant position. Deneve won’t be running its retail store operation. The position remains open since John Browett departed last year.

It is also believed that Apple is also hiring Hulu LLC executive Pete Distad to help with negotiations to acquire content for Apple TV.
