Firm runs 250,000 storage facility in Raunds with a number of service offerings

Gem Logistics is nominated for Best UK Warehousing Association New Member Award

Gem Logistics, which operates a modern 250,000 sq ft storage facility in Raunds, Northamptonshire, is in the running to be named the United Kingdom Warehousing Association’s Best New Member 2013.

With nearly 700 members, the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) is Britain’s leading trade organisation for the third party logistics (3PL) sector and its awards are highly coveted within the industry that the association represents.

Gem Logistics joined UKWA recently, and before being accepted into the Association, needed to demonstrate that its facilities, service offering and business model met a number of key criteria laid down by UKWA.

Gem Logistics provide services to Amazon, Argos, Asda, M&S, tesco, John Lewis, DSG, Weetabix, Dr Martens & Simplehuman (UK) Ltd to name a few and are the exclusive distributors for Microsoft Xbox, Take Two, Ubisoft Logitech, with vast experience in pick/pack & distribution, dispatching over 65m units (in excess of 8.9M units to the end user).

The company not only passed the UKWA entry test, but so impressed the Association with the quality of its operation that it was put forward as a potential winner of the Association’s Best New Member Award.

Frank Ring, Gem Logistic’s Business Development Manager, commented: “We are delighted to have been recognised in this way. To be nominated for this award reflects very well on our company and, of course, our staff. We are delighted to receive this accolade.”

The winner will be announced at a ceremony at London’s Dorchester Hotel in July 2013.
