David Cameron is to spearhead a campaign which will look to enforce stricter regulations on the use of public Wi-Fi hotspots.
The PM is urging providers of public web services to block access to pornography and other adult content as part of the new campaign.
Children’s charities and organisations have urged providers to enforce tight regulations on such services, stating youngsters are too easily able to access inappropriate content through public Wi-Fi networks.
Talking to the Telegraph, Cameron said: "We are promoting good, clean, Wi-Fi in local cafes and elsewhere to make sure that people have confidence in public Wi-Fi systems so that they are not going to see things they shouldn’t."
Whilst BT currently provides content filtering to companies offering the firm’s Wi-Fi service, the new campaign from the PM is looking to introduce a blackout ban on adult rated content.
