INFOGRAPHIC: SanDisk celebrates 25 years of innovation

This year sees data storage solutions specialist SanDisk celebrate its 25th year at the forefront of the tech industry.

To celebrate this significant anniversary, the firm has produced the following infographic, detailing a few of its major milestones from the past 25 years.

Since shipping the world’s first ever flash-based SSD in 1991, SanDisk has gone on to reduce the cost of flash memory a whopping 50,000 times, reports ME.

It has also introduced a number of other notable industry-leading innovations during its history, such as its first memory card (the 4MB CompactFlash) back in 1994, as well as its first USB flash drive in 2002.

Such innovation continues to this day, with SanDisk developing the world’s smallest 128Gb NAND flash memory chip in 2012.
