Hilco is in talks to save HMV with a £50 million deal, reports The Sun.
Sources close to the chain told the newspaper that a deal must be struck by the end of the month as HMV is set to face a huge quarterly rent bill.
The restructuring firm and owner of HMV Canada is looking to assume control of 130 UK stores and save thousands of jobs. This is believed to be the second offer that has been made for the company.
“Hilco is now vying with one other bidder and the suppliers are on side. But it’s all down to the landlords — and about a quarter of them are refusing to budge,” one source told The Sun.
Administrator Deloitte has already announced the closure of 103 HMV locations, you can view the full list of stores below.
