Deloitte, administrator for HMV, cuts a further 60 jobs at the brand's head office operations, including CEO Trevor Moore

HMV confirms 60 further redundancies, CEO Trevor Moore amongst cuts

Deloitte has announced that an additional 60 redundancies have been made across HMV’s head office operations.

Amongst the latest wave of job cuts is HMV’s CEO Trevor Moore and marketing director Mark Hodgkinson.

Job cuts have taken place at the brand’s head offices, located in Eastcastle Street (London), Marlow and Solihull.

Former HMV games buyer Mike Fethers, who lost his job during the brand’s first wave of redundanies last week, has stated that the retailer’s games team now stands at just two people following today’s cuts, with head of games Andy Pinder also being let go.

The news follows yesterday’s announcement from Deloitte that 66 of the struggling retailer’s UK stores were set to close their doors, resulting in 930 job losses, as the firm continues to downsize its business in hopes of landing a potential buyer.

A statement from Deloitte reads: “Following our announcement of the closure of 66 stores yesterday, it has been necessary to consider the head office support required for the reduced store portfolio. As a result of this review, a number of redundancies at the head office have been made."

"This has been a difficult decision, but a necessary one in restructuring the business. We would like to express our gratitude to staff for their continued support during the administration.”

HMV continues its fight for survival on UK High Streets as Hilco, owner of HMV Canada, remains in place to take over the firm. However, there is still yet to be any word of a buy-out taking place.
