Entrepreneur to turn some HMV shops into Robert Dyas or Ryman hardware stores

Theo Paphitis says ‘I’m in’ to buying HMV, Jessops and Blockbuster stores

Dragon’s Den star and retail entrepreneur Theo Paphitis has expressed interest in buying stores from the administrators of the three collapsed retailers.

Yesterday, PCR reported that HMV intended to shed half of its stores, which would pave the way for a retailer to swoop in and take a number of locations off its hands.

Today, Paphitis told the Daily Mail that he might turn some of HMV’s shops into Robert Dyas or Ryman hardware stores.

He also revealed to the newspaper that he is in talks with administrators Deloitte and PwC about snapping up some Jessops and Blockbuster stores.

HMV is expecting to receive offers from a number of interested parties by the end of the week.
