Engineer tweets screenshot of browser running on Ouya

Mozilla working on Ouya Firefox browser

Mobile platform engineer Chris Lord has revealed that Mozilla is working on a version of its Firefox browser for the Ouya Android gaming console.

Lord tweeted a screenshot of the browser running on Ouya, saying: “#Firefox on #Ouya – kinda unusable atm.”

The engineer elaborated on this when speaking to OuyaForum.com, commenting: “It already works and we have some preliminary patches for gamepad support, but there’s still quite a bit of work to be done to make it really usable.”

Ouya is an android-based gaming system that plugs into a television set, enabling the user to play Android games and apps.

The gaming console runs on a Tegra 3 quad-core processor and is set to launch in April.
