Dixons Retail has today announced Jaan Ivar Semlitsh as new managing director, Northern Europe.
Commenting on the announcement, Sebastian James, Dixons Retail Group chief executive said: “I am delighted to welcome Jaan to Dixons Retail. The strength of his retail and customer-facing experience across multiple sectors is superb, and he shares our absolute conviction that our place is shoulder to shoulder with our millions of customers.”
Dixons Retail’s Northern European operation, Elkjøp, is the leading specialist electrical retailer across the Nordics, with over 300 stores and around 9,000 employees in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
Jann Iver commented: “I am very much looking forward to joining Dixons Retail and working with such a great team. I am joining a business with an iconic portfolio of brands which resonate well with customers. I look forward to working with Sebastian and the team to further develop our Nordics business, particularly on the multichannel side.”
Jaan Ivar is currently CEO of REMA Industrier AS, which is part of one of Scandinavia’s largest supermarket chains. His first day will be on 3rd January 2013.
