No suggestion of foul play, says spokesperson

Wikipedia outage caused by cut server cables

The website was inaccessible for around two hours yesterday afternoon – an hour down, and an hour to fix the problem – but was back online by about 4pm UK time.

A Wikipedia spokesman said that while two overland cables had been cut between Tampa and Virginia, there was no suggestion of foul play.
