US Department of Homeland security, ever vigilant, decides Family Guy quote is a threat to grave rob Marlyn Munroe.

Deported from US for ‘destroy America’ tweet

Two British tourists were turned back from the United States after tweeting that they were going to "destroy America".

Taking time out to pose for a trademark Daily Mail sad face shot, Leigh Van Bryan told the tabloid that he and his traveling partner were arrested as they landed in Los Angeles.

The US Department of Homeland Security reportedly decided that the British tourist was a threat after posting a Tweet mention to a friend asking if they were "free this week for quick gossip/prep before I go and destroy America? x"

Bryan’s explanation that ‘destroy’ was British slang for ‘party’ fell on deaf ears as he and his traveling partner Emily Bunting were quizzed for several hours, locked up over night and then sent packing back to Blighty the next day.

US officials also quizzed the pair over a tweet quoting US comedy series Family Guy as saying "diggin’ Marilyn Monroe up". They apparently believed the pair had specially flown in for a spell of holiday grave robbing.

The pair will now need to apply for a visa before attempting to return to the US.
