BT set to up their game folowing the recent launch of Netflix.

BT to revamp BT Vision internet TV service

BT is to revamp the firm’s internet TV offering BT Vision with social networking features, according to a report in the Financial Times.

The update will apparently add personalised recommendations based on past viewing and also introduce "greater interactivity", although the FT didn’t elaborate on what that might mean beyond ‘social’.

The revamp comes at a time that competition in the UK video streaming market has ratcheted up significantly with the launch of the US-based Netflix, albeit a predictably anaemic offering compared to the US service.

The market is positively bristling with movie and pay-TV services, including Amazon’s Lovefilm, Virgin Media and Sky’s services as well as the YouView internet TV launch and the recent Netflix launch.
