New 22nm CPUs and replacement chipsets

Intel Ivy Bridge due around March 2012, reports say

Motherboard manufacturers expect Intel to unveil the upcoming "Ivy Bridge" processor in March next year, according to a DigiTimes report.

The report backs the time frame indicated Real World Technologies David Kantor quoted in the EE Times as saying Intel’s next-generation chips would arrive on "the early side of Q1."

Intel’s official position is that the next generation chips will launch in the ‘Spring’ of 2012.

The new 22nm processors will initially launch based on dual and quad-core models, claimed DigiTimes sources which also suggested that the Z77 and Z75 chipsets would replace the Z68 and P67.
