Week-long block of email and Live services

Microsoft blacklist Oxford University

Microsoft has reportedly blocked Oxford University from services including Hotmail and Windows Live.

"The University cannot currently send email to several services, including Hotmail, MSN, Live and others," stated Oxford University Computing Services in a service update.

Oxford ICT officer Peter Bushnell got in contact with DailyTech adding that the problem had been going on for a week. "Oxford University has been blacklisted," he told the site.

"We have only been given a small snippet from the Microsoft postmaster "we are unable to take action … we are not at liberty to discuss the nature of the block"," he explained.

Bushnell described Microsoft’s response as a "nice brickwall."
