Error with Daylight Saving Time switchover causes alarms to fail across the country

iPhone alarm bug leaves UK late for work

A bug in the iPhone’s alarm settings meant that the smartphone forgot to wake users across the UK this morning, due to the software failing to update to the Daylight Savings Time switchover.

The clocks went back an hour yesterday to resume standard GMT time, however what appears to be a sync error meant despite the fact iPhone clocks updated accordingly, alarms did not.

According to Tech Eye, the problem has previously occurred in Australia, but as yet no fix has emerged. The US switches it’s clocks back at the end of the week, however, so Apple may be under pressure to release a software update before then.
