Device to be sold first by French retailer FNAC

Sagem launches Binder white-label e-reader

Sagem Wireless has launched an ultra-light e-reader called the Binder, which is being made available to retailers as a white-label product that they can re-brand.

The Binder measures just 15.2cm x 12.3cm x 1cm, making it smaller than an average paperback book, with up to 16GB of memory.

The device features a six-inch e-paper screen and supports a variety of e-book, image and audio formats. It has embedded 3G and wi-fi connectivity, and a virtual keyboard for note-taking.

The first retailer to stock the device is French chain FNAC, which is selling it as the FnacBook, complete with wi-fi and free 3G, for €199. The Binder will also be available from Telecom Italia next month.
