AMD denies Oracle acquisition rumour

Following rumours of a potential acquisition by Oracle, AMD’s chief executive officer Dirk Meyer has stated that his firm is not for sale.

According to the Globe and Mail, Meyer told an industry conference that: “AMD is not for sale, but we are happy to listen to any proposal which is in the interest to our shareholders.”

The rumours surfaced after Oracle’s chief executive, Larry Ellison, said that his firm was keen to make new acquisitions and that it was looking for “a microchip company”.
