Sharp is launching two new e-readers – one designed specifically for newspapers and magazines, and the other more suited to books.
The ‘mobile type’ Galapagos device has a 5.5-inch LCD display with a 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution. The device comes in red or silver and has a trackball for navigating the user interface.
The ‘home type’ Galapagos, meanwhile, features a 10.8-inch high definition LCD screen. It comes in black and allows users to read magazines and newspapers formatted across a two-page spread.
The e-readers will be launched in December, to coincide with Sharp’s cloud-based Galapagos e-book store, which goes live that month.
