Archos launches Android tablet range

Archos has launched five new Android tablets, with screen sizes ranging from 4.3 to 10.1 inches, and prices starting at just £99.

Three models – 28, 32 and 43 – are available this month, with the other two coming to market in October.

The smallest of the range, the 28 tablet, comes in 4GB and 8GB capacities and claims to be the only Android MP4 player under £100.

The 43, meanwhile, boasts a 2MP HD camcorder to capture video and photos that can be shared on the web or a TV.

The 101, Archos’ largest, has a 10.1-inch HD, capacitive multi-touch screen. It is just 12mm thick, weighing 480g. It has a 1GHz processor, wireless-N connection, HDMI output and supports Adobe Flash.

The 70 and 101 tablets both have built-in webcams and support video calling. They can also be tethered to a 3G phone via bluetooth or USB for internet connectivity on the move.

The entire range offers 3D gaming and e-book compatibility.
