iPad 2G to launch in Q4?

Rumoured details of a second generation iPad have already begun to surface, just three months after Apple launched the device.

According to Asian tech website Digitimes, the iPad 2G will come in a range of sizes and feature an OLED screen.

Sources told the site that Apple has placed orders with component makers for iPads in varying sizes for Q4 2010 and Q1 2011.

The current iPad is only available with a 9.7-inch LED display, whereas the next generation will reportedly be offered in 5.6-inch, 7-inch and 9.7-inch sizes.

The 9.7-inch model will reportedly see some minor changes, while the smaller models are said to be aimed at the e-reader market, rather than multimedia.

Meanwhile, a games developer has said he believes "iPad HD" will be released within a year, running games at at an equivalent standard to the Xbox 360. Develop has the full story.
