Partnership expected to boost AMD's market share

Asus and AMD take on Chinese cyber caf? market

Asus is partnering with AMD to provide hardware to the lucrative internet café market in mainland China.

According to Asian tech website Digitimes, Asus held a press conference in Beijing to announce the move.

Motherboard makers told Digitimes that the partnership is expected to help AMD expand its market share in China even further.

Although the announcement was only made today, AMD said in 2006 that it would be moving into the internet café market, the Inquirer claims. A few months later Intel reportedly announced it would be doing the same, with the help of Elitegroup Computer Systems.
