AMD has admitted that it will be forced to make further staff cuts in the UK.
According to the Inquirer, although the chip vendor was able to post profits for the first time in a while during the last quarter of 2009, the company is due to cut an unconfirmed number of staff from its UK offices.
“As part of our ongoing efforts to align our organization with the opportunities in the market, we have had to make the difficult decision to slightly reduce our workforce in the United Kingdom,” AMD’s European PR manager Michael Schmid told the Inquirer.
Although the number of cuts has not been confirmed, the Inquirer quoted sources that put the figure at 50.
