Shares in Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) have rocketed over 25 per cent in the wake of the firm’s landmark settlement with rival Intel.
Last week AMD announced it had seen the end of a bitter protracted legal fight with Intel, and immediately its share price jumped from $5.34 (close of trading on Wednesday) to a peak of $6.68 on Thursday.
At the time of writing, the firm’s share price sits at $6.55.
Intel, which had been plunged into an anti-trust and patent dispute with AMD since 2005, agreed to pay $1.25 billion as part of the settlement.
