Foxconn has been named by market sources as the manufacturer for Apple’s upcoming Tablet device.

According to Digitimes, the device is expected to be available from the first quarter of 2010, with initial shipments due to be in the 300,000 to 400,000 range.

The Tablet will feature a 10.6-inch display and is expected to primarily function as an e-reader, in the same vein as Amazon’s Kindle. It is probable that the device will also emphasise long battery life, internet connectivity and simple user interface.
