Vendor to produce high-end television products by 2011, says Munster

Analyst predicts Apple HDTV

Apple will produce its own line of high definition televisions by the end of 2011, according to a leading technology analyst.

Piper Jaffray senior analyst Gene Munster has predicted that the vendor will launch a branded television with integrated digital video recorder, and support for film, music and game downloads, according to The Register.

Munster said the televisions would likely be based upon the vendor’s existing Apple TV hardware, and would allow the wireless synchronising of iPods, iPhones and Macs. He also said the device would "command a premium among a competitive field".
