Vendor claims economic climate is causing consumers to move towards less powerful PCs

Nvidia claims recession boosting mobile devices

The recession is encouraging many consumers to opt for less powerful mobile devices, rather than top-end machines, claims Nvidia.

Speaking to PCR, the vendor’s senior corporate communications manager Bea Longworth said that the lower price, combined with the portability, is boosting demand.

"The current economic climate is pushing consumers towards embracing the convenience and affordability of mobile devices, so there’s a great appetite for these smart phones and netbooks which can become people’s primary computing devices."
