Sales of adult educational software have held up during the economic downturn, according to publisher execs.
There were concerns that sales would suffer during the recession, but according to publishers Avanquest and Focus Multimedia, sales have increased.
"Adult education software has remained healthy in a tough economic environment," Avanquest sales director Steven Powell told PCR. "We have seen growth in a number of retailers, and it continues to be an important sector for us as a company."
Focus Multimedia PR and marketing manager Grant Hughes said that the recession had had the opposite effect to the one that had been predicted by some. "Many people have decided to retrain and refresh their skills during the current recession."
Sage specialist SJ Software’s sales director James Jennings echoed Hughes’ comments. "We have found many new customers looking to retrain or complement their existing skills due to redundancy."
