Chief operating officer Tim Cook states to investors 'it's a stretch to call them a PC'

Apple dismisses netbooks in new tirade

Apple’s chief operating officer yesterday slammed netbooks in the company’s latest tirade against the devices, saying: "It’s a stretch to call them a personal computer."

Speaking to investors, he said it wasn’t an area the firm was interested in, further describing them as having cramped keyboards, small screens, junky’ hardware and poor software.

He said Apple wouldn’t be producing one, because they were incapable of offering the ‘consumer experience’ that Apple requires through its Mac hardware.
