Apple sales decline for February while PC sales rise

Mac sales fall by 16 per cent

Sales of Mac’s fell by 16 per cent during February, according to research by NPD.

MacWorld has reported that, in contrast to this development, sales of PCs have risen by 22 per cent, bolstered by continued strong sales in the netbook and low cost laptop segments.

This is the second confirmed month in a row that Mac sales have declined – in January sales fell by six per cent.

However, it is hoped that the new 17-inch Macbook and the overhaul to Apple’s desktop range will boost sales again over the next few months.
