Nvidia and AMD have both revealed their latest graphic processing units for the notebook sector at CeBIT.
AMD has released its 40-nanometre GPU’s, the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4860 and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830.
Nvidia also rolled out four new 55-nanometre GPU’s that follow its new simplified naming structure. The GeForce GTX 280M and 260M are aimed towards the enthusiast segment, while the GTS 160M and 150M are intended for high performance notebooks.
“The notebook sector grew during 2008,” said Nvidia senior product manager Matt Wuebbling during a conference call announcement of the new GPU’s. “This is a trend that we expect to continue, and Nvidia will be following this trend closely.”
