AV specialist to offer customers of failed website warranty support and credit for unused EdXtra vouchers

Richer Sounds buys Empire Direct website

Richer Sounds has bought the rights to the website of failed retailer Empire Direct for an undisclosed fee.

The retailer, which turned 30 last year, is offering customers of Empire Direct the chance to join its VIP club free of charge, as well as a package of benefits including credit for those who lost money in the EdXtra scheme.

It has also said that it will help customers with the warranties of any product purchased via Empire Direct’s website.

In a statement on Empire Direct’s website, Richer Sounds said: "Despite challenging times, our low-price business model has proved resilient to the downturn and we see the purchase of the EmpireDirect.co.uk website as a great opportunity to deliver our business ethos and buying power to a greater number of customers."
