PC World signed up as first partner for UK version of consumer SaaS offering

Equipt to launch October 20th

Microsoft has announced that it will be launching its home software-as-as-service bundle Equipt in the UK on October 20th, with it also revealing PC World as its first partner.

The bundle, which is aimed at consumers who don’t necessarily want to pay out one lump sum for all of Microsoft’s products, combines its online and security tools including Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007, Windows Live OneCare and Windows Live tools.

It will be available for £59.99 for a one-year subscription to the service. It is currently unclear if PC World has negotiated an exclusive time period for the deal, or whether Microsoft will be announcing further partnerships in the coming months.
