Microsoft will unveil two important product upgrades – Windows Server 2008 OS and SQL Server 2008 database – at an event tomorrow in Los Angeles, reported PC World.
The former is due out next week, while the latter is currently scheduled for release in Q3.
The Windows server products will be launched in 32 and 64 bit versions, but apparently, analysts have claimed that the new software will precipitate a greater shift towards the 64-bit option – though this may take time.
“This will absolutely tip the scales in terms of more 64-bit deployments moving forward," said John Enck, a vice president and research analyst with Gartner.
