Woolworth’s former marketing director, Stephen Robinson has been appointed as the British Retail Consortium’s new director general.
Robertson, who left Woolworths in March, had spent three years in the position, and was responsible for the retailer’s hiring of the marketing agency that conceived the Wooly and Worth ads.
Speaking about the appointment, the BRC’s chairman Sir Geoff Mulcahy said: We are delighted that someone of Stephen’s calibre is joining the BRC. His range of high-level experience will help us to promote the interests of retailers in the challenging times ahead."
