Says it will maintain use so long as there is demand

Asustek denies dropping AMD

Asustek has denied industry rumours that it is planning to reduce its use of AMD components in its computers next year.

As reported by PC Retail last month, the vendor was rumoured to be planning to increase shipments of Intel chips in favour of rival AMD’s.

However, Jellent Sun, manager of Asustek’s notebook division has refuted suggestion that that is the case, stating that its proportion will remain at between 18 per cent to 22 per cent.

Sun added that so long is demand for the two different products, the vendor would maintain a suitable ratio to meet this demand in the future.
