Asustek has upped its global sales projection for its Eee PC; up from its previous figure of three million to five million during 2008 thanks to stronger than expected demand.
Asustek’s vice president, Kevin Lin told reporters the about the increase in expectations at a media luncheon earlier today.
He also said that the company is currently selling around 20,000 Eee PCs per month, saying that he expects the figure to climb as new models become available.
Lin said that the company is pinning its hopes on the brand increasing its market share in the US where it currently has less than one per cent.
