Yet optimism among analysts remains following another quarter in the red

AMD wallet left beaten

AMD have reported loses of $396 in the third quarter according to statistics posted today. For the entire year to date the manufacturers losses accumulate in excess of one billion dollars.

The results seemed to leave them unscathed as they were actually better than predicted by industry analysts, who put a large percentage of the loss down to the ATI acquisition payoff. AMD gained $1.63 billion in sales for the last period, an increase by 23 percent on the previous.

Meanwhile, Intel, although sacking several staff to cut costs, have reported a 43 per cent rise in profits as microproccesor demand grows.
