Asus has unveiled the very first motherboards based upon AMD’s new AM2+ chipset with the M2A-VM being the first to arrive to market.
The vendor has announced a total of ten boards that will support the new chip socket. It is due to be joined by rival, Gigabyte, which will to launch its AM2+ chipset-based motherboards later this month.
"As we have strived to be number one in providing the best quality, service and innovation to customers, ASUS gives the world the first motherboard, the M2A-VM, which is compatible with the latest AMD AM2+ CPU," said ASUS’ vice president of motherboard business department, Joe Hsieh.
