Robin Williams to be memorialised in World of Warcraft

A petition on Change.org has resulted in the late Robin Williams becoming a non-player character (NPC), within World of Warcraft.

Game developer, Activision Blizzard, has been asked to insert an NPC in memory of the late actor, who was said to be an avid player of the online game.

Petitioners have also asked for the NPC to perform some of the actor’s best jokes, "so that he may continue making us smile long after his passing," Jacob Holgate, the organiser of the petition, wrote.

On August 12th, technical game designer, Chadd Nervigg, announced on Twitter that Blizzard is ‘taking care of it’, revealing that Williams will appear in the game.

According to the petition page, Williams used to play on the Mannoroth server and ‘was something of a troll in trade on good days’.

Jacob Holgate added: “Williams said in interviews that he took his World of Warcraft characters very serious(ly) – in fact he was well known for being an extreme PC builder who preferred to build his own overclocked and super-cooled systems.

“Because of his presence within our community, we the players of World of Warcraft are asking Blizzard to kindly create an NPC within the game that memorialises the actor/comedian.”
