NVIDIA launches GeForce GTX 1080, reveals UK pricing and retail partners

NVIDIA has launched the GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card and revealed UK pricing for the product.

The card has been available across Europe for purchase since 2pm today (Friday May 27th).

The Founders Edition has an MSRP of £619 (which is limited to two purchases per customer), while partner editions will be available from £529.

Retail partners include Aria, Amazon, BT Shop, Cube, CCL, Computer Planet, CyberPower, DinoPC, Ebuyer, Maplin, Mesh, Novatech, Overclockers UK, PC Specialist, Scan Computers, UK Gaming Computers, Wired2Fire, Yoyotech, AWD and Laptops Direct.

The slightly less powerful GeForce GTX 1070 will be priced at £399 and will launch from June 10th. Partner edition pricing for that will be available soon. There’s rumours suggesting a GTX 1080Ti and GTX Titan are in the works too.

NVIDIA says the GTX 1080 is the fastest GPU ever built.

"Critically acclaimed as the best gaming GPU created and the fastest way to play all of the latest games, with the power of the Pascal architecture, the efficiency and performance of the 16nm FinFET GPU, the blistering speed of the GDDR5X VRAM and the craftmanship of the fan, vapour chamber, backplate and shroud, the GeForce GTX 1080 is the world’s most advanced graphics card," NVIDIA said in a statement.

Pre-orders for the cards sold out within minutes at some etail sites.

You can see more info on the GTX 1080 on NVIDIA’s website.

NVIDIA rival AMD is expected to announce its new line of graphics cards at Computex next week.
