Next version of Mac OS X also expected in the coming weeks

New Apple iPhones to be unveiled on September 10th?

Apple looks set to officially unveil its new iPhone line-up next month.

AllThingsD claims sources have informed them that Apple’s next press event will take place on September 10th.

Although Apple hasn’t sent out any invites yet, the site has been accurate in the past when discussing iPhone unveilings.

The next-gen iPhone is expected to be called either the iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S. There has been many reports that the device will come with fingerprint scanning technology. A quad core processor is also widely expected.

It is likely that Apple will unveil its budget iPhone alongside the new flagship. This model was thought to be called the iPhone 5S, but after retail packaging images with ‘iPhone 5C’ printed on the sides appeared online, it seems that may actually be the name for the budget iPhone.

It is thought that the ‘C’ stands for ‘colour’, which ties in nicely with the rumours that the budget iPhone will come in a variety of colours.

Last week, 58 hi res images were uploaded by Sonny Dickson allegedly showing the iPhone 5C casing from every possible angle. There’s also been a number of photos posted on WeiPhone showing the iPhone’s casing in a variety of colours.

Early rumours suggested that the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2 would be unveiled in September, so there’s a chance we could see a whole family of new iOS devices on show at the event on September 10th.

AllThingsD also reports that the next version of Mac OS X is expected to be unveiled sometime before the event.
