The headset will debut at the E3 gaming trade show next year

Microsoft is planning a virtual reality headset for Xbox One

Microsoft is planning to reveal its own virtual reality headset for Xbox One next year, according to reports.

The headset is said to be revealed at the E3 gaming trade show in June next year, and it may be released later on in the year.

VRFocus reports that developers are working on the Xbox One VR head-mounted display already.

No information about the device or what video games are in development for it have been released, but the headset will compete alongside the likes of the Oculus Rift.

PCR also received word about a month ago that Microsoft was developing wearable tech for the Xbox One.

This news comes after Microsoft launched a cloud-powered fitness band earlier this year.

The band will retail for $199 (£125) and will track things such as heart rate and calories.
