HTC One Max unveiled with fingerprint tech

HTC has unveiled its new Android-powered One Max ‘phablet’ which includes a fingerprint scanner.

The device was announced a day earlier than planned due to its details being leaked on the internet.

Following in the footsteps of Apple and its iPhone 5S, HTC has decided to include a fingerprint scanner on the device.

The function enables users to lock or unlock the screen and launch up to three favourite applications by assigning an individual finger to each.

Other features include a 5.9-inch Full HD 1080p display, Android Jelly Bean, 2GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 600 chipset.

Unlike previous flagships there is no Beats Audio onboard, which is no surprise considering Dr. Dre wanted to buy out HTC’s remaining stake in the company.

The HTC One Max will being rolling out globally from mid – end October.
