Google has unveiled its first retail store in the form of a shop-in-shop in Currys/PC World on London’s Tottenham Court Road.
The store gives customers a chance to try out Google’s range of products including Android devices and Chromebook laptops.
The tech company’s software and apps will also be available for visitors to play with.
Installations include an immersive surround sound installation called Portal, allowing users to ‘fly’ around the world.
There is a Doodle Wall where wannabe graffiti artists can spray their own versions of the Google logo, and a Chromecast Pod where people can enjoy Google Play movies, YouTube and more through a dongle that converts any TV into a smart TV.
James Elias, from Google, said: “We’re incredibly excited to launch this space – the first of its kind anywhere in the world – in London with Currys/PC World.
“The pace of innovation of the devices we all use is incredible, yet the way we buy them has remained the same for years. With the Google shop, we want to offer people a place where they can play, experiment and learn about all of what Google has to offer; from an incredible range of devices to a totally-connected, seamless online life.
Google’s store-in-store is at Currys/PC World, 145-149 Tottenham Court Road, London W1T 7NE.
