Galaxy S 4 set to become Samsung's fastest selling smartphone

Galaxy S 4 to hit 10 million sales next week

Despite launching less than a month ago, Samsung’s Galaxy S 4 smartphone is set to pass the ten million sales mark next week.

If true, the Galaxy S4 will have outpaced its predecessor, the Galaxy S3, to the ten million mark by three weeks. It would also make the S 4 the fastest selling Samsung handset to date.

Samsung’s co-CEO Shin Jong-kyun addressed reporters at a technology forum held in Seoul yesterday.

“We are confident that we will pass more than 10 million sales of the S4 next week. It is selling much faster than the previous model S3,” said Jong-kyun, reports the Korea Times.

It’s a further boost to Samsung, which already receives 95 per cent of the profits generated by the Android mobile operating system, it was revealed yesterday.

Whilst that figure excludes the Galaxy S 4, the success of the firm’s latest handset should only see it continue to rise.

Samsung is also set to release an update edition of the Galaxy S 4 on June 26th, which will come pre-installed with the latest Android 4.2 OS as standard.
