"This will be a tremendous networking opportunity for all attendees," says Nancy Hammervik

CompTIA partners with PCR Woman of the Year award

IT trade organisation CompTIA has backed next month’s PCR Woman of the Year event.

The new award ceremony and networking event celebrates leading women in the tech industry, following on from the success of our Top 50 Women in Tech feature earlier this year.

During the awards ceremony on October 17th, one of those featured in the article will be presented with the debut PCR Woman of the Year award, plus the event will also provide a valuable forum for peer to peer networking.

“We are delighted to be supporting PCR’s debut Woman of The Year Award, an event that celebrates successful women making great impact in the IT industry, and inspires female entrepreneurs of the future," said CompTIA’s Nancy Hammervik.

"With some of the industry’s most prominent women in attendance, including the ‘Top 50 Women In Technology’, this will also be a tremendous networking opportunity for all attendees as they explore extraordinary opportunities in IT, learn from the best in the business, make new connections and meet others who are supportive of women building careers in IT.

"We are thrilled that five members of CompTIA’s UK ‘Advancing Women in IT’ community will be in line for this PCR award. At a time when women remain under-represented in IT, it is vital that those who have achieved great things in the industry can use their success as an example to others. C

"CompTIA’s ‘Advancing Women In IT’ community is bringing together male and female IT industry leaders to become role models for women, giving them the resources to go out into their communities and schools and speak directly with women and girls about careers in technology. The aim is to reach 10,000 women by the end of this year with the message that IT is a great career choice for women. It’s a message that the new PCR Woman of the Year award will help to spread."

Tickets are just £59 (plus VAT) per person and the event is open to everyone – both men and women. A buffet lunch and free drinks are also included.

The event takes place on October 17th from 11.30am to 2.30pm at Home House, a private members’ club located at 20 Portman Square, London, W1H 6LW. Entatech is also backing the event.
