"Europe represents 15 per cent of our business and we want to push this to 30 per cent by the end of 2014"

Anti-government IT snooping service eyes UK

Egnyte, provider of cloud computing file storage for enterprises, says it’s focusing on the UK and Europe after an overwhelming number of businesses signed up to its PRISM Prevention Program in the US.

This aims to help companies protect their files from risks, including ‘exposure to potential government monitoring’. Firms can move their files to a secure platform away from potential prying eyes.

Rajesh Ram, VP of product management and co-founder of Egnyte (pictured), told PCR: “We’ve had a couple of thousand companies of different sizes sign up for our programme.

“UK and Europe are a big part of our plans. Europe represents 15 per cent of our business and we want to push this to 30 per cent by the end of 2014.

"We’re opening a new office and are working through a lot of options.”

Egnyte launched its anti-PRISM program last year.
